Geoscy LLC consists of principal research geologist, Dr. Michael Prentice, and several subcontracted experts. Geoscy is based in a 2600 ft2 building that has office space, wet laboratory, equipment shop space, meeting and library space, and ample storage space. Dr. Michael Prentice (Brown University PhD, 1988; LPG-IN2517) is a research geologist and the owner of GEOSCY LLC. From 2006-2013, he was employed as research geologist with the Indiana Geological Survey and served as an adjunct professor in the Department of Geological Sciences at Indiana University. Prior to this, he was a faculty member at the University of New Hampshire and the University of Maine. He has been the lead Principal Investigator on research grants from the National Science Foundation, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and NASA, the National Park Service, the Institut Polaire Francais, Indiana University’s Pan Asia Institute, Freeport-McMoran, and World Wildlife Fund. He has authored and co-authored scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals. He has ongoing research programs in Indiana, New England, Antarctica, and New Guinea.
