Sediment Prospecting for Aggregate Services

We determine the pertinent physical properties and 3D shapes of deposits for volumetric estimates of aggregate. We integrate the use of GPR and ERI surveys to produce spatially continuous images of the deposits in a designated area. GPR has been used extensively to understand alluvial and glacial sediments but is limited where sediments are conductive due to attenuation. ERI reliably provides continuous spatial coverage and penetration depth. Extensive use of non-invasive geophysics facilitates a reduced, strategic coring program. We analyze sediment samples either collected by coring, ours or contracted, in order to calibrate the geophysics.

Our deliverables include maps, cross-sections, 3D models of the unconsolidated sediments, geophysical data, core descriptions, pertinent analyses of core samples, and summary interpretation.
